Infant Oral Care

Scheduling appointments for your child at a young age is a great way to help them create good dental memories. By starting their oral care early, your child can gradually get used to being in a dental chair, having their teeth examined and knowing what to expect each time they visit. The best way to pave the way for a healthy smile for your child is by getting their oral care off to a great start from the very beginning!

When Should I Schedule My Child’s First Dental Visit?

We recommend scheduling your child’s first appointment around their first birthday. Of course if your child’s first birthday already passed, it’s okay! Getting them into the dental office at the earliest possible age is a great way to start their oral care off right. At their first visit, they will meet our team, get to sit in the dental chair and have a good time! We will take a look at their smile and check for any warning signs of tooth decay. In addition, you can ask any questions you may have during this visit. Your child’s dentist is there to be a help to both you and your child in their dental care.

Baby Teeth & Adult Teeth

Baby teeth are very important in paving the future for a healthy smile. Baby teeth normally do not fall out until the adult teeth are ready to take their place. The baby teeth help guide the adult teeth into the right spot. If tooth decay or an accident occurs and a baby tooth falls out too soon, it can make it difficult for the adult tooth to grow in straight. A decaying baby tooth can spread to the adult tooth that is growing in behind it. For these reasons, protecting your child’s baby teeth will contribute to a future of healthy permanent teeth.

Give your child’s smile a healthy start! If they haven’t yet had their first dental visit, don’t delay! Call our office to set up their dental appointment.
